There are a number of different diseases that attack women, finding a way to use their reproductive system against them. Endometriosis is one of them and is made worse through its connection to candida. Understanding the link between the two makes it possible to deal with both conditions and thus brings them down to at least bearable levels.
The Basics of Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue similar to that found inside the uterus is found outside it and creates problems. In the uterus, the endometrium thickens, breaks down and bleeds during the menstrual cycle; outside the uterus, it does that as well but has nowhere to go. Because of this, it causes the woman to feel pain and has possible consequences for the woman’s fertility. Endometriosis is usually indicated by pelvic pain during menstruation, possible infertility, pain with elimination or intercourse and excessive bleeding.
While the precise cause is unknown, there are some suspected causes. One is retrograde menstruation, where blood containing endometrial cells flows into the fallopian tubes and pelvic cavity; they stick to the pelvic walls and organs and begin to act as normal endometrial cells throughout the menstrual cycle. Surgical scars and blood vessels that also carry endometrial cells to areas where they should not be are thought to be responsible as well. The transformation of peritoneal cells through exposure to estrogen as well as a transformation during infancy may be another issue.
How Candida Makes It Worse
Candida albicans is a part of the body’s usual ecology. However, like yeast, it can sometimes get out of control and cause the body to feel pain and even become toxic. While the use of antibiotics and/or eating a poor diet can actually increase the candida population inside the body, endometriosis is usually the cause. One doctor has suggested that candida may have progesterone and/or estrogen receptors, and increased hormone levels may cause yeast to overgrow; this can then exacerbate endometriosis symptoms.
A Possible Treatment
It is possible to at least ameliorate the condition. The inflammation can be decreased by eating nutritious foods that increase the body’s alkalinity. You should consume probiotic-rich foods in order to increase the number of beneficial microorganisms in the intestine. If you do decide to include fermented foods in your diet, make sure that they are refrigerated. While this may not cure either condition, it should nonetheless help you deal with the two conditions better.
Once you are diagnosed with endometriosis, you should do what you can to deal with it. It can lead to infertility and cancer, making it a potentially life-threatening problem. Once you have noticed the symptoms, it can be relatively simple to diagnose. As per usual, if you are having problems contact a doctor as quickly as possible and listen to them when it comes to dealing with the problem in order to avoid future complications.
